KADOKAWA Contents Academy Co.,  Ltd.    (hereinafter, “KCA”) held a workshop with invited a Japanese voice actor as an opening event at ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur, a retail facility in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur. The workshop ran for two days over October 29-30, 2016.

ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur is a new store opened on October 27, 2016 by Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. in collaboration with the public-private fund Cool Japan Fund Inc. The participants were especially excited to see Ms. Nomizu perform a live post-recording, also known as afreko in Japanese. When Ms. Nomizu responded to requests from the participants to perform set characters, cheers rose up with each time she gave one of her multiple and diverse performances for them. An inspiring atmosphere continued throughout the workshop from beginning to end.

KCA plans to open overseas schools in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries and regions going forward. By holding events and workshops with invited Japanese guests specializing in various roles related to content production, such as voice acting, KCA will garner more Japanese content fans and help to raise recognition of these jobs.
